About Alyssa

I'm half Greek and some of my best memories growing up in Vermont involve food: Papou handing me a lemony chicken drumstick from the grill, Yiayia’s spanakopita cooling on top of the oven, the smell of my dad’s Greek bread filling the house, my mom showing me how to make an omelet.

When not contemplating a new dish or pondering an original cocktail recipe, I’m a professional writer and editor focused on science, technology, health, and sustainability. More about that work here. After many wonderful years living at high altitude in Colorado, I moved to Sunnyvale, California, where lemons grow on trees.
